No one knows what happened,

not even me.

The trees laid to rest blackened,

the missing key.

Forest instantly flattened,

the ultimate fee.

My heart profoundly saddened,

nature undisturbed no longer to be.

The rules now slackened,

evildoers run free.

Pockets of the wealthy further fattened,

with no referee.

But by one thing we were gladdened-

our pact to cut short their glee.
