Western is set to be featured on season 7 of The College Tour, a college preview series which can be seen on streaming services like Amazon Prime, Roku, and Tubi.

According to an email sent out to Western by Leslie Taylor, the university’s vice president for marketing and enrollment, the production crew will arrive Sunday, Aug. 28 and film on campus, in Gunnison, and around the valley through Saturday, Sept. 3.

“The program is hosted by Alex Boylan, the 2002 winner of the Amazing Race, and is produced by an Emmy-nominated and award-winning crew. Each episode highlights a college or university through the eyes of its students, faculty, and alumni, with the goal of providing prospective students with an authentic look at life on campus,” read Taylor’s email.

Western’s episode is slated to feature eight undergraduate students, one graduate student, one alum and employee, a faculty member, and the university’s president Brad Baca.

Segments from Season 7 will be available on the College Tour website in late September. The full season, including Western’s episode, will premiere in early 2023.

Western will join Fort Lewis College (season 1) in Durango, Colorado School of Mines (season 4) in Golden, and Adams State University (season 6) in Alamosa in being featured on the show.

Other colleges to be highlighted in season 7 will be the University of Idaho, the University of Vermont, and the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.

Taylor adds that Western will plan viewing parties for campus and the Gunnison community when the episode goes live.
